Pao Fan/ 泡饭/Poached Rice

It was a busy evening, so I decided to cook a pot of porridge in the rice cooker. At the last 15 minutes, I was supposed to drop in the minced meat balls into the rice cooker to cook together with the porridge… but shockingly, my porridge ended up to be soft rice due to my error in estimating the ratio of rice and water 😩 😭 😅

Hubby came to rescue my failed porridge and he decided to cook some broth to make Pao Fan instead 👍🏻👍🏻 since our kids love pao fan. 💃

We also got super lucky as our uncle delivered over some yummy char siew and roasted pork from @fook.kin so we used these as our Pao fan toppings on top of the minced pork balls and xiaobaicai that I’ve prepared for our “porridge”. 😅

Thank you hubby and uncle S for saving our dinner!💃
