Oven baked Honey Garlic Tomahawk Pork Chop

We often get our meat supplies from @quanshuiwetmarket and for our previous orders, they also include free Tomahawk pork chop for us. [thank you! ☺️]

I’m not a big meat eater since hub is home! we decided to cook this for lunch so that no meat will be wasted. 😅

No doubt, kids love this sweet sauce. A enjoyed so much that she was sucking on the big bone!

Ingredients:

For baking:

  • Salt and ground pepper

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp brown sugar
  • 30g vegan butter

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 130deg
  2. Wash pork chops with some coarse salt and rinse well. Pat dry both pork chops with kitchen towel.
  3. In a baking dish which fits both tomahawk pork chops, season both sides with generous amount of salt and ground pepper. Cover the dish with aluminum foil tightly and let it bake in oven for at least 3 hours.
  4. Remove the pork chops from baking dish and put them on a grill pan with melted butter (we collected a bowl of pork broth in the baking dish! And used it for making soup 😋it’s so flavorful)
  5. In a bowl, combine all the sauces ingredients. Pour them on the pork chop and baste it with the sauce. Cook it over medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Alternatively, you can also turn up your oven to 200deg grill mode and brush the sauce on the pork chops and grill it in too rack of oven for 3-4 minutes.
