Sunday Steamed buns

It’s becoming our Sunday activity with the kids 😅 making steamed buns together.

.This time we made 3 colors as requested by the little ms. N.

I made a bigger batch of dough using the thermomix (total dough about 494g I.e 16buns of about 30g Each)

.adjusted recipe from perfection with Thermomix in 7 days -quick steamed buns with some adjustments.

Ingredients:

150g water

3/4 tsp instant yeast

18g caster sugar

20g olive oil

290g hongkong flour + 3tbsp (dough a bit sticky so I added more flour so the kids can handle it easily)

2 tsp pumpkin powder

1 tsp matcha powder

2 tsp purple sweet potato powder

A pinch of salt

Steps:

1. Mix water , yeast , sugar and oil in mixing bowl , 1 min ,speed 2

2. Add in flour and salt – knead for 2 mins

3. Take 360g of dough out and put in a separate bowl to mix with matcha powder and purple sweet potatoes powder manually.

4.Add pumpkin powder in the mixing bowl and knead for 30 seconds.

5. Remove dough from mixing bowl and divide each colored dough to 16 pieces (total dough 494g ,shape as desired)

6. Let proof till double (about 30 to 40 mins)

7. Steamed on boiling water for 10 mins and let it sit in the steamer for 5 mins before taking it out to avoid shrinkage. .
